My desire..

The 3 top places that i want to visit if i have the opportunity are:

1. New York, Washington and Chicago – United States of America, I want to climb the statue of liberty, i want to walk outside the wall street, i want to visit the historical ex world trade center, i want to buy souveniers at the manhattan street, i want to relax and eat ice-cream at the central park and try the tasty hot dog with extra sauce and mustard along the way, i want to fish under the brooklyn bridge and last but not least, i want to have my peaceful weekends on thirty-two acres overlooking Blue Mountain Lake, the Adirondack museum which set is inseparable from the natural beauty surrounding it. Its twenty-two indoor and outdoor exhibits tell of the people who have inhabited and visited this land of forests, lakes, and mountains since the early 1800s, In Washington, i’d like to see the White house and not forgetting the Abe statue, i’d like to stroll along the park, maybe with one of the US minister whom never care about his status and always be an open minded type of person… Chicago, i wnat to meet my old child mate by the name of Lucy, i miss her a lot!

2. Christchurch – New Zealand, I just want to meet the Maori’s and learn their traditional dance which has been use by most of the world class rugby team nowadays, even at my own school and besides that i want to visit the place where the movie Lords of the Rings being done and stay there overnight and treat myself with the famous lamb chop with white wine, oh, don’t forget that the lamb chop must be well done.

3. Finally i want to visit Bombay – India city, i want to meet Shah Rukh Khan and Rekha, my indian idol should i say… I want to learn how to dance with those two hero and heroin and maybe just insert few seconds of me dancing in one of their new movie… Besides that i want to bathe at the Ganges River together with the local and while i bath, i’d lke to show off my swimming skills ( do i have skills besides floating ) and finally having a sumptous dinner with Rekha at one of the riverside restaurent available in Bombay.

Brussles Wedding Part 2

The morning came so fast that I think I didn’t have enough sleep after a long night chat with Mathew. But my sleep has been interrupted by 2 loud voices which came from inside the house and they were speaking French so happily. Oh, it was Mathew’s in laws and Filipe relatives from Antwerp had already arrived and they brought Mathews ties, blazer and more attire which I could not describe in English… Mathew’s mother in law is very beautiful, look quite young and so sporting. But I know she’s so stern in her decision making unlike the father in-law who is a quiet type of person, rather do the walk than the talk and very typical Belgians.

The mother in law helped him to wear the attire and thank God, none of these boys need to wear white wedding gown… hahaha… While the mother in-law helping Mathew with his atire, they communicate and i was so impressed that Mathew, an Iban boy can speak French fluently. I didn’t know what were they talking about or were they rather gossiping mother and son in law kind of thing..  🙂 Entah, aku pun tak faham bahasa dia orang.. or..maybe they were questioning how on earth I can snore so loudly??? Ahacks..

Later on the father in law made me a thick Belgium’s coffee… Emmm, expressso.. now I know how they want the coffee taste to be… thick, less sugar and it must be hot! Same like the Germans…

Filip on the other hand knew what to wear and he was already in his wedding attire, just waiting for time to meet the guests and marching towards the City Hall for the wedding ceremony.

From Left: Sister Lorna, Mathew-lawyer-like carry his beg full with important document, Filipe, David, Cousin Cher, Mama & Papi

So around 10am, off we march to the City Hall while on the way, the guests joining us along the pedestrian and it was so merry and colorful. I did snap some pictures. There are friends from Asia too but mojority are locals from Belgiums.

One thing about this people, they tend to give a kiss and hugs when they meet or bump into each other. As for me, a handshake is sufficient. And about walking, i’m not sure whether is it a tradition but to me, they really support the green planet earth. most of the people walk or cycle towards their destinations and by this, it really save ones money, more fresh aires and cool ambience towards surrounding.

More relaitves and friends joining in the walk to the city hall which i’m goint to tell more of it in part 3.

Brussels Wedding Part 1

My memory in Brussels attending a friend’s wedding…

I would like to dedicate this page to my friend Mathew and his husband Filipe and this page is mainly about  their wedding which i’ve attended while i was in Germany and managed to fly to Belgium with the Lufthansa airliner. I better record it now before all the memory fades away. Anyway, i’ve got the permission to do so by Mathew.

My flight was from Dresden to Frankfurt and later on to Brussels. I reached Brussels International Airport around lunch time and Mat and his friend Jun (Hi Jun! Thanks for your hospitality too) were already at the outside gate.

So we immediately went back home to Matt’s apartment which is at the 3rd floor of a kind of an apartment. It was tough for me to go ups and downs while i was there… So tiring. So i for the 1st time met Mathew’s fiance, Filipe, a tall, white not that handsome men. Hmmm, i din’t know how Mathew fell in love with this in his 40 ++ years old men… love is really blind.( no hard feeling Mat.. :)). Oh, at the same time, Filipe freinds by the name of David was there, just arrive from Antwerp, a distance away to the west of Bruxels city. He asked me a question which i will never forget,

David: So, Davidson, you are in this gay community too?

Me: Errrr…no David, i’m not. Are you?

David: Yes..

Anyway, that evening, not to waste everyones time we stroll along the Brussels city to a restaurent nearby where we had a very sumptous dinner at one of the Asean restaurent. Mathew really fed me so well until he ordered another round of delicious pork rib for his long lost best friend… so the iban like.. hahaha..

So that evening ends with Mathew and I spend the night at his place and updating each others with khabar berita from home while the others went for the 2nd round. It was a tiring day for me so i slept in the living room on a bed sofa which covers with so many bulu manyau (cat) and ukoi (dog)……I slept like a baby… snoring like no men’s business.

End of Part 1

In Part 2, i’ll share with you about the wedding and what Mathew wear on that day… Is it a white gown?

Bung Bratak Day

This morning I followed my friend, Snah to go up to the Bung Bratak, bypass kampung tembawang Sauh, Bau-Lundu road. At first I was reluctant to go when I think of the car ‘health’ but, the heck, I have nothing to do also if I just stay at home so around 7.15am, we went off to Batu Kawa coffe shop, the usual stop-by -place for the KKK. I had my mi hun kolo and a cup of kopi-O and we ate while waiting for other troops to come. I brought my Canon camera, a bottle of deenergized water, my nokia-i-pod, sunglass, a hat, small long towel and i put oll of those inside my blue adidas knapsack. Around 8.ooam, everyone were there, so we excitedly drove there.. i myself was so excited.. It has been a while i didn’t do out doors activity after my major operations last year July.

So the Kampung is only about 10 minutes drive after the left turn at the end of the Bau-Lundu junction. That was not the thrill. The real thrill was, to my surprised, is to hike up to the hill.. I was not inform about hiking. I was wearing jeans and also my confortable hush puppies shoe and i have to climb the hill?? Hahaha, i took that challenge since we are there already.. no turning back. My hush-puppy shoe never fails me i reckoned base on my experienced.

So, the jungle tracking and the hiking took us about 45 minutes. The paths way were slippery since its still wet. Unlike Mount Singai where about 90%  have wooden staircase, this one have around 5% only and they are so stiff. I can really feel my leg muscle produce high ammount of acitic acid and my adrenaline made my heart pumping so fast. Oh, how i envy those who hase BMI less than 25. Surely they manage to go up faster and never need to stop to catch up the breath. Finally we arrived at the top. i was so surprised to ssee a bidayuh baruk on the top of the hill. It was so beautiful erected facing the villages down there and we can see the clouds and hills from there too. So briefly, here’s what i got from the net regarding this Panglima Kulow whom save this area from the aliens.

Panglima Kulow story is about over 2,000 Jagoi-Bratak Bidayuh men who killed and about 1,000 women and children were been taken captives when the enemies invaded an ancient settlement on top of Bung Bratak on May 1, 1837. Among those who survived the invasion were head of Jagoi-Bratak community, Panglima Kulow and a handful of his followers. The Jagoi-Bratak Bidayuhs were said to have settled at Bung Bratak from Gunung Sungkong in Kalimantan in the year 1000. It was often attacked by hostile predators from other areas before it finally fell to the enemies. The settlement, strategically located at a hill shoulder and plateau, was considered prosperous with large stock of paddy and was well-known throughout Borneo. It was the envy of the people from other areas. After days of intense attack, the settlement collapsed in the early hours of May 1, leaving the survivors to flee into the jungle. All the longhouses and the Baruk were set ablaze by the attackers.Years later, Kulow and other survivors rebuilt the settlement, but life was never be the same.

Hmm.. who was that Panglima Kulow? Another legend? No? …
